There’ll probably be quite a few of you out there who will be surprised to hear that Intertops has actually been around since 1983. Granted, the company didn’t go online until 1996, but that still gives the company nearly 20 years of online service and over 30 years total of representation within the sports betting industry. This review will be looking to see how well they managed to transition the company from a small, Euro facing company, into a global betting powerhouse over that period of time.
There’s actually two sign up promotions that you can choose from when registering a new account with Intertops. Please note that only one promotion can be taken from one account, so you need to work out which will be more rewarding for you.
The first up for grabs is a 25% match up to $100 on your first deposit. This requires you to contact customer support after you have registered your account and made your first deposit. They will then credit your account with the required bonus and you will be able to start clearing as soon as they have done this. To withdraw your winnings you will need to wager through both your deposit and bonus 8 times within the sportsbook.
The second is a $20 matched bet on your first bet of $20 or more. It’s pretty simple in that simply place a bet of $20 and then once again, get in touch with customer support. They will be able to verify your bet and add your free bet to your account. Please bear in mind that the $20 will need to be rolled over 16 times before being able to withdraw any winnings from your free bet.
We’re going to kick off the features section with a little on how the site looks. Design is often something pretty personal and what’s one person’s nectar, is another’s poison. But, we doubt we will be on our own when we say the Intertops site looks less than pleasing on the eye. For one, the font across the board is super small and whilst we know you can change this with a few clicks of the keyboard, it means you have to do it every page and it becomes tiresome.
But, and this is a pretty huge but, the live betting section of the site seems to have a completely different design to that of the rest of the site. In fact, the design looks amazing and we aren’t completely sure why it looks so different. We’ll also add at this point how impressive the live betting section on site is, with a huge range of sports to choose from. You get a decent little match center for each market, which is basic but allows you to keep up to date with the score in most games with a few stats thrown in for others.
Intertops have always been a one for offering up a nice range of sports to bet on. We love the fact that they embrace sports from around the world, but found it interesting to see how much of a role soccer betting has on the site. We don’t just mean the MLS either, but also leagues from across Europe, which are a really nice addition.
It was actually on our hunt for which sports were on offer that we came about Intertops’ best feature; their new stats section. It includes a really strong range of sports that they offer and weirdly, some that they don’t, which makes us think that it could be powered by another company, but Intertops have the rights, which is fine. What you get is a ton of information for different teams, head to head ratings, statistics, form, recent record, player statistics, and just generally a heap of information to allow you to make more informed betting picks.
We were in agreement that Intertops were one of the strongest sportsbooks in the industry especially for US bettors. They just seemed to go that extra mile with sections such as the stats interface and live betting platform. They really feel like a polished bookmaker and whilst the design of the static pages were a let down, the live betting design is actually really nice and hopefully something that they will transfer across.
The downsides were few and far between, but the sites biggest weakness comes from navigation. Often it was tough to find the sport or market that you specifically wanted to bet on. This was magnified when looking at sports with a large number of markets, making it confusing to say the least.
All in all though, we were highly impressed with the Intertops bookmaker and would gladly recommend it.
